NanoDiGree‟s financial and economic impact is intricately linked to the real need of the European SMEs to overcome particular problems rising in the global competition. The NanoDiGree project aims to replace indium containing ITO with Cu nanowires containing TCF‟s. Cu is clearly more abundant than indium and also has lower cost. ITO contains approximately 70% by weight of indium metal which is a critical, scarce, expensive and Chinese controlled resource. NanoDiGree‟s products will contain Cu Nanowire inks ink- jet printed transparent conducting films with properties superior to the existing ITO films.
